Harness the power of the sun and wind to generate something big with Borea Construction. We are looking for a dedicated Environmental Coordinator to join our team and support the environmental monitoring and compliance of our wind project sites.
Your Mission, Should You Accept It
As an Environmental Coordinator, you will report to the Project Manager and play a critical role in ensuring that our wind project sites adhere to environmental standards and regulations. You will interact with various stakeholders, from team members to regulatory authorities, to ensure project compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Environmental Monitoring: Ensure the environmental monitoring of wind turbine construction work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. This includes tracking current mandates, deadlines, and budgets.
- Compliance Validation: Validate compliance with specifications, monitoring plans, laws, regulations, and conditions set by regulatory authorities.
- Legislation Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant environmental legislation.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with clients, subcontractors, approval authorities, and other project stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression.
- Permit Acquisition: Collaborate in obtaining environmental permits and certificates of authorization, and propose solutions to any problems related to the construction environment.
- Reporting: Write monitoring reports, participate in site meetings, and perform other related duties as required.
- Tool Development: Participate in the development of new tools and services offered by the company.
- Authorization Handling: Assist in obtaining exemptions or additional authorizations when necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
- Educational Background:
- BSc. degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Renewable Resources, or a related field.
- Technical Diploma in Natural Resources or Environmental Management from a certified college.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Environmental Standards Knowledge: Demonstrates advanced knowledge of environmental standards to be respected on construction sites.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient with ArcGIS software and possess good technical skills.
- Bilingualism: Demonstrate an advanced level of bilingualism in English and French, both written and spoken (an asset).
- Construction Industry Experience: Experience in the construction industry and its health and safety standards (an asset).
